ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Karlia Villalobos and I am happy to start sharing a little bit about myself and how I got this web page started.

I am a proud graduate of Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor's of Science in Communication Studies. In 2012 I started working as a student worker at the Student Affairs in Technology Services (SAITS) Department on Campus which is the reason I now find myself in the Educational and Integrative Studies Program for the Multimedia Studies. 

Before I worked at SAITS I used to hate dealing with computers I swear one time a computer sparked up on me by simply logging on in the computer lab. However, this changed over time as I worked at SAITS. I grew fond of what computer technology could do for everyone, especially for students. I am not a computer savvy just yet, but I excited to learn and apply all the skills I learn into my daily activities.

My ultimate goal is that one day I can use all the skills I learn from in the Educational Multimedia Program and apply them by working in CSU or Community College system to better serve students. While working at SAITS I helped coordinate the Ask Billy Online Communication Tool and I loved it! However, I felt debilitated by lack of technical skills which is why I applied for the Masters of Educational Multimedia Program. One day I would like to create something that would engage and help students. I am not sure what my creation will be , but I hope to find that answer while I attend my Masters Program. For now, I am focusing on the basics and step 1 is to learn to make a web page. This is why I I have created this page and I hope you all have enjoyed my story.
